Martha has a broad general business and regulatory background, having served previously as the Senior Vice
President and General Counsel of Comex, the domestic commodities exchange on which gold, silver and copper futures and options contracts are traded, and as a staff attorney of
the CFTC, the federal agency that regulates future trading in the United States. Martha was also a member of an industry-wide self-regulatory disciplinary committee that deals
with charges against individuals and firms engaged in violations of commodities laws through misrepresentation, false advertising, unauthorized trading and other improper
business practices.
Martha's extensive business and regulatory experience has enabled her to counsel a variety of business entities, ranging from start-ups and venture capital limited liability
companies to mature publicly traded corporations. Martha's practice concentrates on various contractual arrangements, including distribution, licensing, supply, development,
management, consultant, agency, and employment agreements; corporate governance issues; and regulatory restrictions and requirements applicable to advertising, marketing and
product labeling of cosmetics, OTC drugs, and medical devices.
Martha is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin (B.A. 1973) and the Rutgers School of Law (J.D. 1978), where she served as an editor of the Rutgers Law Review. She is
admitted to practice in the State of New York.
